Every 3rd Friday at Delight Factory: improvised ambient sound and live visuals in a fully open-participation format. Bring an instrument, plug in your synth, sign up for a VJ slot, or just stretch out on the bean bags and take it in. A drone foundation is provided; musicians and visual artists layer on top. Piano, Rhodes, and percussion on hand if you need gear. 8–11pm.

New York Classical Theatre presents a free immersive production of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar performed outdoors. Tonight’s show is in Central Park (W 103rd St); the production continues nightly through Jun 25, moving to Carl Schurz Park later in the run.

The 5th annual Juneteenth showcase hosted by Wild ‘N Out castmate Sydney Duncan, featuring NYC’s best all-Black improv and sketch teams plus a surprise stand-up guest. A celebratory, culturally rooted comedy event with social commentary.

Prospect Park Alliance and Danspace Project present MAJOR by Ogemdi Ude — a powerful dance tribute to majorette culture and Black femme legacy, performed at the Boathouse on Juneteenth. 6–8pm.

A night of bass-heavy hard house, ambient, and synth- and tracker-based dance beats paired with live visual art (ms paint, slimebubble) at Wonderville. A scrappy, experimental electronic-music-meets-visual-art bill — and all proceeds go to the artists.

A free 45-minute live performance at apexart, part of the exhibition Silence Is Still Our Best Chance. Dancer Šárka Benedová (CZ/NO) performs a movement work built from her research into the stillness of the body and the city, accompanied by sound artist Atul Giri (IND/NO) layering ambient music, silence, and occasional narration. 5pm.

Shakespeare Downtown’s 10th season of free performances brings Chekhov’s tragicomedy of longing and fading dreams to the open-air stone walls of Castle Clinton. Directed by Geoffrey Horne; runs Thursdays–Sundays through June 21. Free tickets at the door from 6pm; show 6:30–8:30pm.

A free public opening of Ash Fure + Xavi Aguirre (stock-a-studio)’s ANIMAL [a listening gym] — a sensory-intensive sound installation that renders the body a conduit for sound. Free with RSVP. 6–8pm.

The Sean Mason Trio pays tribute to Lincoln Center Visionary Artist Wynton Marsalis through blues, spirituals, and folk songs tracing the deep roots of American music — a free Summer for the City set with Jazz at Lincoln Center, in-person and livestreamed. 6pm.

Art historian and Green-Wood Cemetery tour guide JR Pepper lectures on New Orleans’ unique “Cities of the Dead” — their European and Caribbean architectural heritage, ornate tombs, and the preservation challenges facing these remarkable burial sites. Pepper is an adjunct at Brooklyn College and author of Buried Boston; he’s currently writing a book on New Orleans cemeteries.

NYC Resistor — the legendary hacker collective — throws open its doors every Monday and Thursday for a free, public open-shop night. Bring a project to hack on, get help from makers working in electronics, soldering, 3D printing, and laser cutting, or just come hang out and see the space. 18+. 6:30–9:30pm.

An immersive, film-based seven-screen installation turning The Shed’s 12,000-square-foot gallery into a multisensory portrait of contemporary America — blending film, architecture, and music with works by Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Meredith Monk, and a new Beck score. Live improvised music accompanies the run. Opens today; on view through September 13.
